• Healthcare

High healthcare costs (especially for prescription drugs) and overpriced insurance premiums and deductibles are major sources of economic struggle. Scott Tipton has voted 57 times against the Affordable Care Act with no replacement plan. In May of 2019, he voted against Congresswoman Ann Kuster’s Protecting Americans with Preexisting Conditions Act (HR 986).

Right now, there is no competitive market in the health insurance industry. Diane will work to make the healthcare system accountable and accessible to everyday Americans. In Congress, Diane will

  • reduce the cost of premiums, deductibles, and prescription drugs
  • protect coverage for pre-existing conditions
  • end surprise billing practices
  • allow Medicare to negotiate for drug prices
  • increase coverage for mental health treatments
  • fully staff and fund the Veteran’s Administration
  • fund rural health clinics and CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program)
  • expand substance/opioid abuse prevention and treatment programs
