January Greetings to Everyone in Eagle County and Routt County!
I am humbled and honored that you reelected me to represent you in the Colorado House of Representatives. The first Session of the 70th General Assembly of Colorado officially began Wednesday, January 7! On that day, I was sworn in for my second term as your State Representative.
I have been working with stakeholder groups since November of 2014 on several 2015 bills, among them a bill to improve safety and reduce closures and back ups on I-70 Mountain Corridor. Through my stakeholder processes on my bills, I bring people together for practical, evidence based solutions that work for everyone.
I am excited to continue to work across the aisle with my Republican colleagues on solutions. We will continue to focus on strengthening the middle class by expanding economic and educational opportunities for all, supporting small businesses and agriculture, helping rebuild a 21 st Century transportation infrastructure, and protecting Colorado’s precious natural resources for future generations. Once again, we intend to balance our budget and increase our reserves.
I am honored to have been appointed as the new vice chair of the House Transportation and Energy Committee. I will also serve on the Agriculture Committee and the Health, Insurance and Environment Committee. I want to keep you updated on all the work we are doing at the State Capitol via newsletters and Town Halls.
Coming up, I will have two town halls, one in Eagle on January 23 and the other in Steamboat Springs on January 30. I will preview the 2015 Legislative Session and host a question/answer and discussion of upcoming bills and issues. Please see the right hand panel on this newsletter for upcoming Town Halls in January. I look forward to seeing you, answering your questions, and discussing issues with you!
I am so honored to be to continue being your voice in Denver and look forward to hearing from you!! Please do contact me with your ideas, concerns, and issues at email@example.com or at my Capitol office at 303-866-2923. My Legislative Aide, Tate Carpenter, or my intern, Kirra Mazzola, will help you. I will get back to you as soon as possible. I look forward to working with you and for you and everyone in our beautiful, headwaters district!
You can count on me to continue to be effective, diligent, transparent, accountable, and bipartisan, firm in our shared conviction that by working together we can build a better future for ALL Coloradans.
Yours for a just, equitable, sustainable, and prosperous Colorado for all.
